Churches and monasteries
The monastery complex Treskavec with the Church "Assumption of the Mother of God” is built on the older cult place. The church was built in XIII century. Later, several times the monastery complex is destroyed and updated. Inside the church there is two wing carved door that dates back to the XVI century and belongs to Prilep – Slepche carving School. The frescoes in the church "Assumption of the Mother of God” in the monastery Treskavec has been made in several stages. The oldest are the illustrations paintings from the calendar, which contains many interesting iconographic images. The verse form of the signatures in these calendar scenes is increasing their importance, as it is a rare example in the Byzantine art. The separate entity is the painting in the northwest dome, with the composition “Yard of Heaven”.
