STYBERRA
Archeological localities
The antique city Styberra is outspread on the Bedem hill, s. Cepigovo, 16 km west of Prilep upon the confluence of the river Blato into Crna Reka (Erigon). The city originates in the Macedonian-Hellenic period – IV century BC. It reached its peak in the II century AD, when most of the objects were renovated, and most of the marble sculptures and epigraphic monuments date from that time. The remains of architectural sculpture and portraits, marble and fragments of marble slabs with inscriptions, discovered in 2009. confirmation of the important role of Stibera and its citizens in the free cities in the Roman provinces.The city life came to a halt in the second half of the III century AD.
