In the Prilep’s center, in one urban entirety with the Clock Tower, in the complex of Old Bazaar, there is the Charshi Mosque. It was built in the time when the sultan Mehmed the Second Conqueror was ruling i.e. in the time of Bursa style and it presents the simplest form of Mosque from that period. It was built in several phases. About the first phase it was found out from the preserved authentic inscription with Arabic letter in Turkish, which among other things points out that the Mosque was built in 1475. And the minaret got its today's looks in a few phases of construction. The minaret of Charshi Mosque by its pedestal on polygonal foundation, its height of 25 meters, decorated with two balconies that encircle the minaret completely (sherefeti), is a rare sample of Islamic architecture in Macedonia.
